Rap-Hop/Lounge Track - Attempt at Vintagey/Big Bass Tone

I've been helping my slam poet friend out with his songwriter-oriented project lately (I call it Rap-Hop, but I guess it is super soft rock with a general kind of flavor).

Anyway, it's been fun to try and record using very different tones and playing style than I usually do.

My attempt at a big fat bass tone using a Cirrus 5 (old steel strings, bass slight boost, mids almost max, treble slight cut, halfway from center to neck pickup) and basically my same Mesa/Sansamp settings that I use for everything with way more drive, gain and master volume:

Rap-Hop Demo Track by dr_thunda on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free

If anyone has an ear for this stuff, let me know what you think. I feel like each time I record I cover more ground in the direction of making my active bass sound more passive and the amp more vintagey.
