Anybody know who's playing bass on the soundtrack during the closing credits? If you've seen it, you know what i'm talking about...

Ok, the composer is Michael Giacchino, did the whole soundtrack...now to dig and see who was on the session....

edit: it looks like it was him, but I'll keep digging. http://www.michaelgiacchino.com/

mysterious ratatouille bass sensation

The mystery solved. According to the soundtrack cd literature the bassist is none other than....

Abe Laboriel

God's bassist from bands like the resqband and Ron Kenoly.
Also well known for his collaboration with musicians like Chick Corea and Herbie Hanckock.

One of the Pixar special edition making of specials, I think the one for "The Incredibles" has a scene showing Abe laying down a bass track. is just as animated (so to speak) in the studio as he is live!

Thanks!

I was wondering the same thing -- the whole soundtrack is cool, and Abe's playing swings throughout. Definitely a date to be proud of -- another notch in his belt for sure.

Geez. Just watched this last night. Abe has apparently not lost his touch even a little bit.
