Hi all

My band has uploaded a new track from the forthcoming ep. Let me know what you think? This song isn't as bass busy as some of the other ones, but i guess with this kind stuff i'm just keeping a solid groove with the bass drum. Even heavy music needs to groove!

http://www.myspace.com/theunderstatementrock let me know what ya think, from production, composition, everything. Its titled 'Your Last Request'.

Not my style of music. I like everything but the singing xD
Recording and mixing sounds pretty good. Not sure how much it's being effected by the compression on myspace.
The guitars sound great. I'd say the drums were a tiny bit burried, and the track could maybe use a few db of more dynamic range (might help with the drums too).

Was it done in a proper studio or at home?

Thanks guys!

Interesting observation. This was done at a proper studio here in Sydney. Few others have made the same comment about drums too! Must be a compression thing cos the actual audio file sounds great.

It wasn't bad, but I thought it was a tad bit generic. I give you props for a decent breakdown in this style, bands often are really lazy and just chug on the same note repetitively for all their songs(this one local band I saw did the exact same breakdown five different times in one song). The guitar line is cool there, I would have had bass and drums drop out for a bit there and go from soft to a louder dynamic but eh, not my song.
