Tell me what you think on different topic. My bass tone/playing and overall band sound. I did the mastering and pretty much all of the mixing on this album.

Technical stuff:
Basses:
Ibanez BTB406QM
Dean 8-string Edge on lost at home
Amps:
Trace Elliot GP12SMX pre-amp
Sansamp RBI on lost at home
Effects:
Fulltone BassDrive

Thanks

Listened to half of the first track (Lost At Home).

The sounds you use are all good IMO, I especially like the guitar sound. The song as a composition was good too with a good melody and a great, heavy main riff. Great attitude in the music.

My major negative feedback is about the drummer. He is very often out of time when he fills and that makes you as a whole band sound a bit amateurish and not very pleasant to listen to. He definitely needs to improve his timing. It doesn't matter at all how fancy fills you try to play unless they're in time.

The other negative feedback I have is about the vocals. First, they're too far back in the mix IMO, secondly his voice is pretty thin. Luckily both issues can be fixed. I'm 100% sure he has lots more power in his voice that would be up to pair with the power in the rest of the music, he just hasn't found that sound yet. I'd recommend to check out Complete Vocal Technique, and especially the "Overdrive" mode www.completevocaltechnique.com. He is now singing in the "Curbing" mode that has a weaker character and IMO doesn't suit this music very well. It sounds rather strained too, like he's trying to find the power needed but don't know how.

Sorry about the negative criticism, but it would be worthless to comment on the music and not point out these things. I hope it helps more than it breaks. Anyway, you do have a lot of potential and you seem to have the right attitude, it shines though in the music. Just a few things to fix, then you'd be great.

The negative criticism is fine. It's what really needs to be herd so when we go to record again we can fix the problems. Hopefully more people chime in.

Pretty much echo the same sentiments. Vocals are fine but need to be more powerful for lack of a better term. The Alice in Chains type vocals can work with this type of music but it sounds like the vocalist is holding back a bit. Might work to "open" his voice up a bit and not cling to that nasally style all the time.

I Like the bass playing and guitar. Overall it just sounds like you guys needed to get things tighter before hitting the studio. Some of the drumming and vocals sound lazy.

I think it sounds great. Only critique I would have is the drummer needing some timing practice and overall sound is a little too Velvet Revolver clone-ish.
