To re-record, or not?

So I recorded bass tracks for my band's cd a few months ago, and as we're on our way out of the studio, I'm uncertain on whether or not to re-record my bass tracks, cause the tone just isn't quite what I normally have, or want. Should I rely on the protool wizardry to help or re-record?
