Recognizable Instrumental Cover Tunes

Sign in to disble this ad
I'd like to use this thread to build a list of
recognizable, instrumental cover tunes.
If you can dance to it, all the better, but as long as it is very recognizable, it qualifies.

We'd like to work up a set of material that doesn't require any singing - to give the lead singer breaks, and to allow for when sickness strikes.

Try La Villa Strangiato by Rush. People love the middle section, gets them going every time.

jungle boggie has vocals and so does santeria

Jessica by the Allman bros. is a good example but, not really dance-able
You might look into some disco from the 70's,there were a lot of instrumental songs from that era that were for dancing..a few that come to mind are "(do)the hustle" and a disco version of a Beetoven's 5th..look around, theres lots of stuff out there

well, let's see...

pretty much anything by Jeff Beck (Led Boots, Cause We've Ended As Lovers, Blue Wind, Freeway Jam, etc etc)
School Days, Lopsy Lu - Stanley
all the Satch and Steve Vai stuff
Losfer Words - Iron Maiden

then there's always 'Tequila' (you can make it an instrumental if you get the audience to sing it)
