The only trip-hop I know is Portishead. So I'm not sure if they're bass-heavy or not, I have no other trip-hop groups to compare them to. They're GOOD though

This is what I was going to say. Mezzanine sounds HUGE and has lots of bass synth, bass guitar and killer upright bass as well.

Also, Etro Anime have a record called See the Sound that has sweet beats, a Lakland-slingin' bass player, and a BEAUTIFUL lead singer. They've since swapped many players around, but that record is a chill, enjoyable listen.

@ jordasch: It's like your avatar but different

I agree with Tricky and would add Lamb (not esp bass heavy but still nice). Gorillaz can be trippy and RJD2 or UNKLE is worth checking out.

Check out Dalek. They use an umlaut above the "a" but i dunno how to type that
