Recommend me some Nathan East...

I want to get acquainted with his style/skills. Is there a particular Fourplay album that provides a good showcasing of Nathan's bass playing?

He's got a massive resume and it's hard to pick just a few. If you're into pop and R&B playing, check out Michael McDonald's 2 Motown projects! He and Abe Laborial smoke on those.

The Fourplay stuff is all top shelf, however be sure to also check out the following Anita Baker CDs, Compositions and Rhythm of Love. Some of Nathan's best work is on these two CDs. I for one immersed myself in Nathan's work once I got off of my Level 42 kick back in the early 90's and it has helped my bass playing and musicianship 100%. IMO Nathan is the goods.

IIRC-
East played bass on The Manhatten Transfer's tune "Mystery" (composed by Heatwave's Rod Temperton)...one of my favourite East 'Pop' tunes.

Another '80s Top-40 thing:
Kenny Loggins' "Footloose".

..and there's some Al Jarreau & Chaka Khan stuff, too.
The Anita Baker debut album is top-notch.
