I have heard the following rush songs in my lifetime:
Tom Sawyer
YYZ
Closer to the heart
Spirit of the radio
when i was in my 20's and had long hair, i was jokingly told i should join a rush tribute band, such is my resemblence to the gedser. alas i could never get the whole singing while playing thing down, and maybe i subconciously avoided getting into them.
so, a little game: reply with a song for me to check out, the song in your opinion you must play to a guy whose never heard rush.
if you agree with a choice, +1 it and add another...
my prog tastes are, tool, floyd ,porcupine tree, early dream theater amongst others.
impress me!

Natural Science (album = Permanent Waves)
Cygnus X-1 (album = A Farewell to Kings or the live album Different Stages, more energy live)

It's not that long, it is one big rock mini-opera segue, do yourself a favor.
