Recording Bass

In a few hours Ill finally get my macbook. Im planning to use it to run garageband tracks during live shows that I recorded on my Imac.

My macbook will be in my room and Im especially going to use it to record bass on Aebersold tracks and stuff like that.

I got a Tech21 preamp, should I plug it directly into my mac or in a 1 track mixer then into my mac or should I just get a direct box, or whatever stuff I need

try it see what happens, ideally you want a audio interface but I'm sure the sansamp will do what you need.
