Recording a Demo for a studio

Sign in to disble this ad
hey all,

a studio has asked me for a demo of my playing to show to clients. i have a studio at home, and have experience recording. i'm not sure, however, what i should give them. the songs i've done are not anything special (i was hired just to play the tracks) so i want to record something that shows a bit of all genres.

should i give recordings of me playing covers, just jam a bit, or write kind of a show case piece to record and submit?

any advice would be great, if you own a studio, what would you expect. samples. anything you guys got!
thanks

short montage.. pan yourself slightly off center (both source and you) this will create a slight stereo effect and bring you out slightly.

What to show.. various tones, styles, fretless, upright, electric

OPINION: For studio work think Lee Sklar... fantastic timing a solid chart will win over flashy chops and noodling.
