Recording for documentation, only. Help!

I’m looking to do something simple so I can record and document any ideas I have.
I have a PC with Windows XP
I want a simple recording program that has drum tracks, so I can record my guitar and bass lines.
I saw this.

Any ideas? I’m open to any PC program that’s not insanely expensive.

Thanks,
Todd
