Recording for first time!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys, my band (Catch me! Catch me!) is finally going to record some stuff today!

What should I expect?

We are doing it with a friend (he has a makeshift home studio), so I'm not expecting some guy who is overcharging us to be telling us what to do. He did a really good job with his band's recordings so we are hoping ours will turn out fairly well also.

Any advice for a first timer?

relax, don't hit the strings so hard, and make sure you all use the SAME tuner. I hope it turns out well.

Relaxing and not digging so hard are much easier to do when not playing as an ensemble for me, so I hope I can do alright with this. When recording can the volume of the track be changed on the mixer (I think that is what it's called)? In other words, will the volume of my rig need to be very high?

Thanks for your advice!
