Recordings of alder and ash fenders?

I'm trying to get an idea of how these two body woods sound compared to each other and wondered if there's some recordings of each so I can compare the two?

What do you want, Jazz or Precision?

Great.

Alder - listen to any Motown with Jamey Jamerson. Alder w/ rosewood.

Ash - listen to "Thrust" by Herbie Hancock. That's Paul Jackson, the legend, on bass. Ash w/ maple.

I see.

Only problem with those was how many other variables besides body wood were different in those two scenarios.

But, just based on those recordings, it seems that the sentiment that alder is the warmer of the two with ash being brighter is definitely true.

IMO, ash is more "punchy" than bright.
