I hear all kinds of, this band is great! That band is great! Blah, blah. Here is something a bit different. Post whatever you may like, as long as its clean! (Dont go getting my in trouble) with the Mods. Just simple questions answered with either an answer, or a hyperlink to an example of why.

1. What is your favorite genre? That you listen to! Some play differently than what they listen to!

2. Who is your all time favorite band, and why?

3. What is your all time favorite album?

4. What is your all time favorite bass oriented album, I.E. Victor, Tal, Marcus solo albums.

5. What album/song/record contains your favorite bass tone?

6. What album/record contains your all time favorite song?

7. If you could play a jam on any song, what would it be?

8. If there is one album or song you could go back and change, what would it be and what would you change?

9. What is your all time favorite record label, and why?

Did you enjoy something a bit different, rather than just a "Whats the best" thread?

Thanks guys! I thought I would change it up a bit, instead of the daily "What is metal?" and "Why do/dont you like Jazz?" threads.

IF you dont agree, dont fill it out.

I guess I listen to a lot of 90s alternative and other such rock bands from the 90s that may still be around. Shoegaze/Psychedelic

2. Who is your all time favorite band, and why?
Janes Addiction. Why? Eric Avery and his perfectly fit basslines. Beautiful!
3. What is your all time favorite album?
Hmmm... 'Aenima' by Tool or 'Kettlewhistle' by Janes Addiction
4. What is your all time favorite bass oriented album, I.E. Victor, Tal, Marcus solo albums.
Can't say Ive listened to many basscentric albums... maybe anything by Dos
5. What album/song/record contains your favorite bass tone?
Bass tone... probably the same as the 2 albums listed above
6. What album/record contains your all time favorite song?
Led Zeppelin's Houses of the Holy - No Quarter
7. If you could play a jam on any song, what would it be?
Did an awesome jam to the theme from 28 Days Later. Another awesome jam to White Rabbit.
8. If there is one album or song you could go back and change, what would it be and what would you change?
I'll leave other peoples music alone.
9. What is your all time favorite record label, and why?
I hate record labels... maybe I'd go with Sub Pop for giving Nirvana its start.
Did you enjoy something a bit different, rather than just a "Whats the best" thread?
Yes, though some of these questions took a while to come up with an answer.

1, Metal, of all its various incarnations.

2, I honestly have no single fave band, last few months though, Blind Guardian has got most of my airtime, FWIW.

3, Again, honestly, don't have an answer, but for recent listening, lets say, Blind Guardian - Nightfall in Middle Earth.

4, Bassinvaders - Hellbassbeaters, Song Link Features guest appearences from Stu Hamm, and Billy Sheehan, amongst others, no guitars at all.

5, Probably Rebel Meets Rebel - Heart Worn Highway, Song Link

6, I don't have a single favourite song, but again, for the sake of an answer, lets say, Blind Guardian - A Night At The Opera.

7, Ummm, Speed The Plough - Horslips, Song Link.

8, Metallica - And Justice For All, I'd add in the bass tracks.

9, I seriously don't follow recod lables, definatly can't answer this.

10, It was cool, wish I had better answers to half the questions though.....

I'm not much anymore, I once was, years ago, but its the only album I'd ever wish to be different than how it is, other that that one, the artist(s) knows best, IMHO.

[b][i]4.

I don't know if I can properly fill out this survey myself, but Jane's Addiction is definately in my top 5 all time favorites/biggest influences. I was reading a Rolling Stone the other day that said Kettle Whistle was the low point of their career, I couldn't disagree more; I think it's all in all the best collection of Janes out there, especially the live tracks and I also like the collaborations with Flea. Low point? Yeah right! Bleh to that.

This is a good thread, i'll have to think to actually give my all time favorites, if there is such a thing. I'll try!

Thank you. I have been trying to think of something a bit different for TB, as I myself am bored of the same threads daily.

God dammit this is hard! Here we go...

1. Progressive Rock, Technical Death Metal, or Jazz. I'm out there.

2. Oh god, don't make me pick... a 3-way tie between The Mars Volta, Tool, and Necrophagist

3. Ahhhhh... Frances the Mute by The Mars Volta

4. Hellbassbeaters - Bassinvaders

5. "East River Drive" by Stanley Clarke

6. Changes each day. Currently is the Kill Bill Volume 1 soundtrack. "Green Hornet", and "Crane/ White Lightning".

7. "Cygnus... Vismund Cygnus" by The Mars Volta

8. "Televators" by The Mars Volta. During the dual-layered vocal track, I would've had Cedric sustain "On his grave" in falsetto, while Omar went into a wahed up solo. I also would've included a synthy-keyboard track rather than the acoustic guitar.

9. IDK.

10. Yes.
