Which Recordings would be listed in a TalkBass Basic Library?

Suppose we created a reference thread listing the recordings of every genre of interest to TBers, which recordings should make the list?

It will be more helpful if people post specific album titles, not vague terms like "The entire Artist X catalog".

Here's a few I think would go in:

Revolver - The Beatles
Kind of Blue - Miles Davis
Heavy Weather - Weather Report
Pet Sounds - The Beach Boys
Mingus Ah Um - Charles Mingus
Mingus - Joni Mitchell (There's a thread about that album right now).
Clube da Esquina - Milton Nascimento.

This is a pretty broad stroke. Nothing extremely esoteric, as the goal is to list recordings that should be available to the most people as possible.

Repetition of titles is encouraged.

Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band - Trout Mask Replica
Amon Duul II - Yeti
Black Sabbath - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (and/or Volume 4)
King Crimson - Red
Tom Waits - Rain Dogs
Pat Metheny - Bright Size Life
Cream - Disraeli Gears (one of my favorite trippy album covers)
Hawkwind - Warrior on the Edge of Time (and/or Space Ritual)
Captain Beyond - Self Titled
Gentle Giant - Free Hand
Grand Funk Railroad - Closer to Home
Opeth - Blackwater Park
Emerson Lake and Palmer - Tarkus
Yes - Close to the Edge
Monster Magnet - Spine of God
Jeff Beck - Blow by Blow
Johnny Cash - Live at Folsom Prison
Pink Floyd - Animals

A couple of those might be a little hard to get ahold of, but I consider it all essential music.

Great list Matt. May I add:

White Album - Beatles
Rust In Peace - Megadeth
Legend - Bob Marley (Best of)
Appetite for Destruction - GnR
Powerslave/Killers/Iron Maiden - Iron Maiden (pick one!)
BSSM - RHCP
Undertow - Tool

Some of those blend, but I think they're all essential. I could add more too.
