Your position has been deemed frivolous based on previous rulings. You will now be fined $500.
Sorry, little IRS humor there. Writing tax court petitions all day.
But no, it's not the same song. |

Check out the other thread on this as well. Some interesting viewpoints.
I think it's called "rhcp accused of plaigarism" or something to that effect.
It's kinda like someone saying Matchbox 20 ripped off every song that has the chords G-C-D-E in it just b/c those are the ones for "3 AM".

also, who really has that much time on there hands to make a site about a band they dont like, i really dont like mcfly, but no way would i waste my time makin a site or something telling people that i dont like them lol |

Beautiful...the chord progression sounds simillar...the lyrics sound nothing like each other...it's a simple rhythm, and IMO, the Chilis give it a totally different feel
I guess you know that Cliff Burton "ripped off" Bach... he must suck also!
I think some people are ridiculous - yeah, one song does sound simillar in progression(not lyrically), and some geek thinks he found the tomb of king Tut - I guess Green Day passed under the radar on all the songs they literally stole, and called their own...

In the future, think carefully about posting such things. While you did not make the site, you are responsible for what you link to on this forum. |

Too bad I'm a big fan of RHCP, and because they have similar chords, they have a different feel to them, Petty's has a hollower feel to it, and he can't sing, whereas the pepper's version sounds fuller, and that's a very popular drum beat, because it works. Btw, flea made that song so much better because flea, is well, flea.
(I'm also playing this at a camp jam thing this week, kinda ironic)

I think the page is supposed to be insulting to the Peppers, not to gays, by the way, that's just how "Internet humour" works.

It's kinda like someone saying Matchbox 20 ripped off every song that has the chords G-C-D-E in it just b/c those are the ones for "3 AM". | Yeah, but, didn't Tom Petty invent that unique drum beat and he was definitely the first one to write songs about chicks.
So now I guess we all need to have an online digital comparison site to make sure that our new songs have in no way been influenced by other peoples songs, but do we have to make new chords and scales too?
I suppose if they searched hard enough they could even find out who Tom Petty ripped off to get that song. Pathetic. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
