REDDI A-Designs for guitar and/or vox?

Sign in to disble this ad
I need to pick up a preamp for recording and was looking at the REDDI A-Designs, which is in my price range. I've heard a lot of good things about it.

Question is: how will this thing work with guitar? Is it voiced specifically for bass, or is it a universal preamp that just happens to work very well with bass? How about vocals?

Tks.

Oh, wait, the Reddi is a tube direct box. Never mind.

the Reddi is a DI box. you will need a mic pre for vox. I believe the brick is also a mic pre and somewhat similar to the reddi.

if you are only looking for 1 channel I'd look into a double chassis 500 series enclosure . . . tons of options there these days - get a nice pre and eq . . .

If you mean a lunchbox setup - Yeah, I'm considering an API 500 lunchbox and a Great River MP500-NV. I've been told by many that I can't go wrong with that as a start. Seems cost effective as hell, too, if I want to build an arsenal for the future.

I like dreaming about that: A GR preamp, an API preamp and EQ, maybe a Chandler compressor . . . ahhh!
