I just got my book with the isolated tracks yesterday. I ordered it on September 18th and it was delayed five times. Anyways, it is really cool how they isolated the tracks. It really makes me appreciate even more Flea's talent. I just hate the tone of his bass on the album. His Modulus would have been far better than his vintage jazz.

Sounds pretty interesting. I might have to take a look.

Where can I find those isolated tracks at danoman?

If they're good, I'll probably order the book.

I thought it was a '61 fender jazz http://www.bassplayer.com/story.asp?...torycode=14523

Anyways, I just can't stand that vintage tone. Nothing better than a 21st century sounding hi-fi bass.

I like his tone on the album a lot, but I hated his tone when he used his fender on the tour.

His modulus tone live is my favorite tone.

I liked his Stingray tone back in the day the best.

I feel somewhat the same. While I would have preferred his Modulus on the record I can deal with the jazz. As far as live goes, when he used that Jazz live, it was just embarrassing. It was totally crappy, lifeless sounding. I can't even watch the promo shows he did with the jazz, they just sound so horrible.

Listening to em for the first time I'm really impressed.

Some songs are so simple, yet great. While others that sounded simple have many guitars doing subtle things that I did not notice.

Flea has some awesome fills that are more apparent in this also.

If anyone cares to hear what this CD is like, here is an excerpt from Dani California. It only goes up to the first chorus. I know it's copyrighted stuff but someone on the Chili forums got permission to post 1 min sound samples comparing the CD to the LP. So, I shouldn't think this is any different. Feel free to delete the link if it is inappropriate.
