Yeah, from what I understand Bobby's not too happy about that...but who would be?
The truth is, what the general public can "lalala" along with is never the most sophisticated thing...so it's always a mixed bag to have a hit song. Your "hit", by definition, is almost always bound to be your least sophisticated work.
It could be worse...it could have been something painful, like "Tears In Heaven", by Clapton. While I'm sure it was cathartic to write a song for his lost child, I can't fathom the pain of having to perform it over and over again.

I love Bobby McFerrin too, I think the first time I really understood what a genius he was came while I was listening to a recording of him and Chick Corea playing Blue Bossa.
