Can really hear Cliff play now, though personally Jason's enhanced tracks on AJFA impressed me more. |

This is a sweet bass song. If they would have had the bass up on the original, this could have been one of those "Bass basic albums" |

I have the game and recorded a "no guitar" version of this song for my own listening enjoyment.
Cliff is indeed a master bassman. I wish they had more Cliff tracks for us to download for Rockband. |

It's neat to hear it for the express purpose of hearing the bass, but beyond that I'd rather hear the original mix.
It's interesting to hear how busy Cliff was under all those guitars. Perhaps knowing that he was getting mixed really low allowed him to do what ever he wanted knowing that nobody would ever hear it... |

He was a lot busier than you'd think (and had a strong right hand!) I used to think one of the reasons that he got lost was that he was simply and strictly paralleling the root notes to the chords James was playing. Obviously he was doing a bit more than that.
The bass is very clear on "Kill 'Em All." Yeah Ric! (And that Gibson through Marshall sound crushes the later ESP through MESA mud -- Metallica's production sound has been in steady decline since that first album.)

Perhaps it was a little too high in the mix in this clip, but this proves that Cliff was more than your average bassplayer (take that Cliff haters!!) | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
