righteous and the wicked

I had a pretty depressing weekend... ex gf stuff. Last night I was in this old irish bar with 2 of my friends and as we were leaving, Righteous and the Wicked came on. I just stopped for a minute and all my stress and anxiety completely lifted. I am a HUGE RHCP fan. Like giant. But i go through cycles of listening to them really heavy then going through other stuff.
In the instant i realized i haven't listened to them in months (mostly been listening to "sad bastard music") and i forgot how happy they made me.
I also haven't been inspired to play in a week or so, all of a suddeni want to pick up my bass and rip it up.

anyone else have anything like this?

I'm in my sad bastard phase... but sadness inspires me for some reason. It's not too bad. It makes me want to vent... musically. Thus, my nu-metal band Karrot is awesome!

I love the bridge in that track where the guitar & bass double up and frusciante does that zeppelin-esque harmonizing thing. Why is it when flea uses a 5-string bass you really notice it!? (Funky Monks has some floor rumbling low end)

Chilis rule. Flea rules, no matter what anyone says IMO.

i no what u mean about when listening to a song and it completely changes ur mood in an iinstant like nothing else can, with the chili's for me its like ur apart of them when ur listening to them, especially after reading anothonys autabiogrophy (very bad spelling i no). i dunno what it is lol, but other chili fans probs no what i mean

I think Flea has the marvellous middle ground between pop sensibility and the funk.

I'd agree, it's this really accessable kind of funk that's still greasy and stuff.
