Here's a couple of vids of some friends of mine blowing most funk and fusion acts out of the water.

Agreed! The band (Dirtyloops) were no. 1 on the popcharts on myspace in Sweden the other day. Probably the first time that's happened to a fusion act. But well deserved.

They're good and the fact that they are 3 white dudes who look more at home in the emo scene might help them stand out.

Sadly, I doubt they will make a dent. Maybe I'm too jaded about the business. The response on YT looks strong so hopefully I am wrong.

Depends on what you mean by "make a dent". They're working as the band for several swedish artists, and I'm guessing they might be able to break out internationally. But if you mean turn around the whole mainstream music thing... that might take a while longer. Like a couple of weeks or so

Better to listen to than to look at, but very decent stuff. It's quite catchy. The bass player gets some serious props for having solid funk chops despite the hair and nail polish. I bet some jaded old funk dudes would crap stones over it, but thats the fun.
