Been posted before! Excellent clip! Ahh....during the heyday of Contemporary Jazz! Smooth Jazz sucks!

I always wonder how he never fatigues from slapping almost 90% of the time!

ahhh, i love that tone. so crisp. Also I dig the rifs where marcus and the guitarist do that little walk down thing. very cool.

left hand thumb

I noticed that MM's left hand thumb pops up on the E string all throughout the video. Is he muting or sounding notes? I've seen the Louis Johnson video and he uses his LH thumb to fret notes all the time. Anyone know what MM is doing?

Gotta be the fantastic Hiram Bullock on guitar!

Miller's tone is one of my favorites and his solo section is not about a billion notes but heavy, heavy groove.

Nice segue from the solo into the bridge. Fantastic tone. No complaints.

Interesting thing about the LH thumb - didn't even notice that. I don't think he's muting or fretting notes with the thumb, just getting more leverage for bends and things.

One of the more truly "musical" and tasteful solos I've seen in some time. Marcus is inspiring as hell.
