Rush 2112 as jazz expo (db content)

It's done with a db, but I figured it'd go over best on this side of the forum.

That ain't me on bass, I was just enjoying the music and thought people here would enjoy it too.

Nice playing by some great Vancouver players- Bernie as Neil, Tommy as Geddy, Dave as Alex, and JP as Geddy/himself. Fun stuff!

Nope... Just had a quick listen, didn't recognise any of the themes from 2112.

Could be a couple of reasons for that.

1. It's jazz improv played at a jazz improv venue. Of course that means something much different and beyond a literal cover played with walking lines on a db. In that light, especially if it ain't easily recognized by some, I think they've succeeded. (Anyone care to morph a nominally Rush thread into a "What is jazz?" thread?)

2. The vids are only excerpts representing about half the performance. See notes at bottom of the vids. For the most part I clicked the camera on once I got especially excited, wanting to capture some for a Rush freak friend who couldn't be there.

I suggest that, if nothing else, the beginning and end should be quite recognizable. Beyond that, I can only tell you that we three Rush fans sitting together weren't left scratching our heads wondering what they were playing. Maybe "you had to be there", but I think what's heard on the vids is pretty great and enjoyable regardless.
