To the right usually isn't he? Right to the audience, left from backstage.

I have a really weird question.........

How loud are Rush concerts? Would it be a good idea to have earplugs? Or are they not usually that loud? I've never been to a concert before.

I've seen them twice and both times the volume was just right. Loud, but not so loud it hurts like many many other shows I have been to.

Bring earplugs. Last time I saw them my ears were ringing pretty good after the show, that was on the last tour.

So bring earplugs, and if I am wrong you can just take them out and put them in your pocket. Better to have them and not need them than the other way around.

Not to sound like an old man, but...every stadium/arena concert is too loud to not wear earplugs. The same is true for almost every rock club I've ever played in or attended.

If you've never been to a concert before, I'm guessing that you might be fairly young. If that's the case, you've got a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to start protecting your hearing now before you have a chance to screw it up permanently.

Ringing in the ears comes from damage to the hairs and/or nerve cells in your ears. Think about this: if you come home from a show (yours or anyone else's...) and your ears are ringing, you've temporarily damaged parts of your ear. If you're lucky, your ears will recover. However, repeated exposure to loud sounds will cause hearing damage...and there's no way to predict how much or how soon.

OK, I'm off my soapbox. I've seen Rush live on nine of their tours (some tours more than once). They are still my favorite band and an incredible live act. However, like all touring bands these days, waaaayyy too loud!

Got my tix! Prudential Center NJ, October 20th...not the best seats in the world, but floor seats are floor seats!

BTW to any of you TBers who live here in NYC or NJ and have commuted...do you know any public transportation I can take from Manhattan to Prudential Center? I've never been!

Geddy is Stage LEFT. Most bassists set up on the side of the High Hat - (Stage left for right handed drummers, Stage Right for left handed drummers)

Geddy is always on Neil's Left.

This rule isn't always 100% true though. It's a matter of preference and mostly the Guitard's Ego. Case in point - Eddie Van Halen is Stage left as well as Jimi Page from Zepp.

That's what I said, left from backstage, but right to the audience.

Man, am I the only one to have a major malfunction with the pre-sale? I even had 3 tickets selected, and when I went to purchase them, I got an error message and my ticket selections were removed... and then the "not enough tickets available" message.

These $&*# presale sites always take a giant #2 on me.

It seems like everyone has their tickets, but Winnipeg tickets for September 26 haven't come out yet, am I missing something?

Definitely... the so-called "fan club pre-sale" stuff has started. Every few days they release a small number of tickets for early sale for some of the venues. I'm not sure about the Winnipeg date though.. go to Rush.com and look there for details. You do need to sign up for a login ID.

Here's a link for today's presale:
Rush

Hope that helps.

None of the Canadian dates or pre-sales are on yet. They just say "Coming soon". Sign up for the newsletter.
