I recorded this on Oct. 3, 2010 using my stereo wired Fender Geddy Lee Jazz Bass.
Enjoy....

Great tone! You're getting more of a Ricky tone on that song than I get out of my Ricky.

that tone = awesome!! care to share a shot of the eq section of each amp?

also, I think this puts an end to all the snobs on here that say "to have the tone of *insert bass players name here* you need to have his hands!!!"

yea...those guys can officially stuff it!

Very good! Now you just have to learn to sing it while playing!

Thanks!

Yeah, I noticed that it sounded more like a Ricky the first time I went to stereo with that bass as well. Now, Geddy's Jazz Bass isn't wired in stereo but it sure is confusing to a lot of people, sometimes me even, as to if he's using a Rick or the Jazz Bass sometimes.

I'll try to snap a couple pics tomorrow.

Maybe you don't excatly need to have the hands so to speak, but maybe approach it from how aggressive or not the line is played.
I don't know.

I can do it.
It's not as hard as you would think. The vocals follow the bass line for the most part. And my 'Geddy' voice seems to work quite fine with that song.

Yes...I can do the "cell of awareness" part. I prefer the ESL (CD) version.

I was a little hesitant to click on the video thinking it was another lame attempt at the song. Wow! You nailed it! Nice job.

yeah, you totally nailed that attack, sounds just like the real deal.

But to sing Geddy's vocal parts, you need his epic beak

That's what I figured To me it doesn't really sound like a Ric, but you certainly nailed Geddy's tone. And that's all about right hand attack. Great job man.
