Rush Hemispheres Prelude
I recorded this last September with my Rickenbacker 4001 and Moog Taurus pedals.
Sorry about the audio being a touch hot.
It's my first Youtube vid and I hope you like it.
This was posted in the Bassists" fourm two weeks ago. I apologise for the double post. It should have been posted here from the start.

Nice job. And you really got the Geddy tone going too.

Nice Taurus pedals! Nice cover too. My favorite section to play through is Armageddon. Especially starting at "Some who did not fight..."

Picture discs were more for collecting than playing weren't they? I've got Hemispheres on red vinyl, found it at a record store for 5 bucks used, but I lack a working record player.

The darn thing skipped right at the intro before the fast part on mine!
Sure looked purdy though!

A few years back I learned Alex's guitar parts in Hemispheres, took me close to a year!. So whe I saw this video I picked up my Strat and tried to play along. God, am I ever rusty! It's amazing what we "unlearn" over time. I can just imagine Alex, Geddy and Neil at rehearsal wondering how to play certain passages to their songs. They've probably forgotten more than most of us will ever know!

Anyways, well done, 4001! You've nailed it! So, if you don't mind my asking, how long did it take you to learn Prelude?

Great job, you nailed 99% of the details I always look for... and trust me, I have every note of this imprinted on my brain... liiiittle too much top end on the tone and I think Hemispheres is where the Badass bridge was introduced which changes the mids appreciably. But really, ridiculously good job.

I remember being able to play this several years back when all I'd do is practice Rush licks! I hadn't tried playing any Rush in years and yanked out the albums and went through a few songs about two months ago... really shocking how much dexterity I've lost from not going through that stuff regularly...
