Saw it last night at a local theater. It was PHENOMENAL. The band was on fire, Geddy's tone was nice n warm with some overdrive. Previous tours sounded way to gritty for me. I highly recommend it for when it comes on dvd and I think there are some theater viewings coming in the UK soon.

I thought it was great, even though they only put about half the show in the movie; along with the fact they did a much better job on Subdivisions and Vital Signs.

They also only played Workin' Them Angels and Malignant Narcissm off Snakes & Arrows, not Far Cry and Faithless in Louisville.

I think the overall mix sounded better than it did live, but that might just be the Yum! Center being boomy and enhancing the high end.

I got the Bluray, and blasting my best friends sound system was the best live tones i've heard from the boys in forever. Ged's singing is better than it has been on some tours, but apparently some say he had a cold, and its a lil nasally at times, but in my opinion it doesn't sound that bad. The bass tone was PHENOMENAL. And as always, fantastic playing from all 3.

Geddy is not young anymore, so I will understand that he can't sing like before, but he still manage just fine, I think. His bass playing is superb, and I like his tone on the Time Machine Tour. Geddy is still phenomenal and so is Rush.

Watched the DVD for the second time last night. They seem to be having a great time, especially during "Camera Eye" and "Witch Hunt." Loved the bass tone. Geddy was playing great! Alex was on fire. Neil was great, but man he has put on some weight! Less enthused about the video of the show. Didn't like it as much as some previous DVDs, and I saw the show 3 times this tour, including 11th row seats in front of Geddy. Production values themselves were pretty good.

I saw the Time Machine tour this past summer, watched the Live in Cleavland performance on Palladia, and just ordered the BluRay. As usual, the playing is simply amazing.

However, Geddy's not 25 anymore and his voice isn't what it once was. That's not criticizing him, it's just a fact that age is taking its toll on it. Personally, I'd prefer he altered the vocal lines where he's clearly struggling hit hit the notes in order to give an even better performance - and I wouldn't think less of him or the band if he were to do that.

For context, I've been a huge fan since 2112 first came out . That's going back a LONG way!

dave64o and Duke21:
I agree with everything you both said. Been a fan since 1978 and these guys still amaze me. I do agree Ged's voice is not 25 anymore and changes are to be expected. The great thing for me is that when I watch them, yes they do look their age, but they don't look "old", if that makes any sense.
I hope I can hop around like that when I am 58 years old (only 15 more years to go).
Looking forward to the new album and tour in 2012, and maybe (hopefully) a 40th anniversary tour in 2014...Please let it happen!!

I think he's playing was great..he seemed to really let loose and get off on it per se. It's the first time I like the tone/mix in a while.

Watched the DVD a couple days ago and I loved it. Playing was superb and Geddy's tone was phenomenal.

I wish they would've played a few more synth-Rush songs (from Signals and GUP mainly,) but what can you do Seeing Alex play a Mini Moog during "Time Stand Still" was a pleasant surprise.

I also got a kick out of the little skits at the very beginning and midpoint.

A bit late back, but I saw the film at my local bells-and-whistles cinema and it was juast amazing. Sound and camerawork stunning, and on a purely geek level, Geddy's bass sounded better than it has in years! Thicker, with less of that artificial sounding fizzy top end.
My Dad has since bought himself the blu-ray so I have re-watched it, I think it's going to be my favourite of all the recent live films they have released (since Rush in Rio).
And above all, the guys really look like they are having the time of their lives - especially the usually sombre Neil.

A mate who came along for the fun even felt compelled to write a little piece about it:

The day I didn’t see Rush live « Land of Sunshine

I'm educating him on his opinion of live albums...
