Amazing show, but I always thought Geddy sounded like he was struggling on the Wal the times I saw him live with it. It's an unforgiving tone. |

My 2 penneth.

| | | | Ah yes, the late '80s... back then I had my hair like Alex's in this video.
I like Geddy's Wal tone (though maybe it is a little too light and burpy), but thank goodness Alex moved away from those Signature guitars. Those things just sounded so darn thin.
I have A Show Of Hands on VHS, and I think it's being released on DVD sometime this year. And on a related note, recently Alex finished up remixing the Exit Stage Left video in 5.1 and that's coming out in a couple months on DVD. Can't wait for that one as my old VHS copy from 1984 is very very very beat up! |

And Neil still sounds like Neil, haha. Cool vid though. I guess nothing will ever beat Exit Stage Left, at least in my opinion. Everything sounded the way it should. |

In fact, ASOH was the first Rush video I owned and that version of YYZ blew my mind (and still does). I guess Iīve watched that song more than a hundred times.
I "discovered" Rush during the 80īs so that sound results pretty familiar, and I gotta admit I like it to a certain degree.
Thereīs no doubt that the tone from his Wal is a bit thin, but the note articulation is the best one to fully understand what Geddy is playing.
Canīt wait to receive my R30 DVD

...wait; maybe it matches his tone
BTW; what did geddy use to record? it always sounded like one of his jazzes to me. |

Geddy would you pleeeeeeeeze just look at the fretboard ONCE?!
Absolutely ridiculous. |

Anyone got any clues what it was he was saying?

"Roll the Bones" with his Red Wal.
+ 1 about his tone.
