not bad .. how long have you been playing?

I was more listening to tone ... looks like you got most all the notes right .. now you need to work on tone between the notes .. the faster notes you tend to play softer than the slower notes ..

the main riff for instance the three fast notes then the 4th note ... the three first you tend to play softer than the 4th note and it comes off a little different..

all in all though good job!

that's a song i want to learn.

Gee i never noticed that lol... i still dont kind of hear it lol XD, maybe i was afraid of the low e clipping. I played the octave a little bit softer at 2:34 too, i recorded it before and it clipped because i always played it too hard, so i played it softer.
thanks

ive been playing for 3 years now.

Nice job! One of my favorite songs to play.

One thing: why are you playing the E on the A string with your 1st finger? I'd work on your fingerings to minimize shifting if you don't need to. It's all about economy of motion.

Very nice.

I didnt play it like this... see i stopped playing for a while since i dont play with my band anymore. I used to work a lot on how i used my fingers,i used to look in the mirror while playing and think "damn, my hand/fingers look awesome when im playing" when i saw this i realized how bad my fingers look right now, i even caught the guitarist pinky disease which i used to be thankful i didnt have back then.

About the tone, i think its pretty good for a starter pack bass

Nicely done.

BTW, how did you record the vid? Very well done. I can hear the bass AND the song clearly, unlike most of the vids on youtube.

Yeah, thanks, i recorded my bass just like you record a song, i plugged it into my pc and everything. Then i played it while the pc was recording the audio and the camera was recording the video. Then i just synced the song, the bassline, and the video using movie maker.

I think you rocked.

Now try singing and playing all that...

That's why there is only one Geddy.

Nice job! I think you did an excellent job for someone playing 3 years. Actually better than a lot of guys I know that have been playing a lot longer. Have you tackled Red Barchetta yet? That's a fun one!

Keep it up, man!
