Which do you like better?

Once I get a few replies & opinions, I'll tell you why there are different basslines.

No need for an ipod to use it. But enough! That is not what this thread is about!

eastcoasteddie: I like the second one much better. It flows to me. I could actually not care less for the other one. Scary how a bass line makes or breaks it for me on this one. The spanking is too distracting to me for this kind of tune and the driving notes during verses I think is too busy. After a couple of listens, they both have some character though, still prefer the other one though I am going to say if the rest of the record is more agressive bass wise, slaps and pops all over, I would keep the first one in. Great tune!

I'd say that overall, I prefer the second. I do like the slapping on the intro of the first, but I'd do away with the popping.

Personally what I would do is do the slapping only (no popping) intro, and perhaps bring it back at 2:54. The rest of the time use the bass from the second version.

I'd also say that I'd like to hear a bit more mids in the bass , and the drum level brought down a bit.
