Hey all! I'm jamming with Versed in Grey out here in Phoenix, AZ! Just recorded a whole new album and I wanted to share the teaser clip with my Sadowsky Basses!

That was pretty cool man. I like your bass. The song you were playing at about 45 seconds in was pretty nice to.

Well of course Norm edited it so the best stuff wouldn't be in the video. It was kind of cool recording for the first time and not knowing when photos would be taken or when the video camera would suddenly show up.

Ty for the compliment, too!

Thanks!

Here's how we got it.

New strings!

Here's the chain order. Sadowsky bass to ABY box.

Side A of ABY box goes to Sansamp RBI preamp then to desk for the "distortion" channel or the beefy channel.

Side B of ABY box goes to Ampeg SVT 4 Pro which goes to the Ampeg Classic Series 8x10 cabinet in the isolation booth in the basement so a mic to the desk.

Basically two channels of bass goodness for easy blending and such.

I can't wait to hear the finished product and the new Versed in Grey album could be available as soon as August, but no date is confirmed yet.

Well, except for the last part of the clip, I can`t distinguish it very clearly.

I mean, it sounds good but the guitars / drums are too prominent in the mix to appreciate the bass properly.
Of course, IMHO

The mix is coming along nicely.

The last thing is basically me pedaling the D string, which is tuned to C# and hammering on and off the 15th and 17th frets back and forth. It's not crystal, but the point was it sounded cool and we tried it, but it's not getting used on the track.

That's the awesome part about tracking... you can go nuts and then filter out the stuff you don't want later!
