So here I am, surfin' on TalkBass and my five- and seven year-old are watching (the original) Scooby Doo.

The bass line on that theme song is pretty damn good.

Can't tell with my little notebook pc speakers if the bass is right, but this seems to be the original version of the theme.

Season Two (1970) theme song has a Merseybeat thing goin' on

Nice find, Mr Fab. I always liked the original version, and not the 1970 one.

Haha...I am a HUGE Scooby fan!! As a kid in the early 70's, I couldn't wait to get up saturday mornings and watch Scooby!
Needless to say I have been rockin that bass line for years and years! I have introduced so many kids to Scooby.
Cheers!

Yeah, the "Mersey" version seems out of place for 1970. Plus these kids and their dog are all-American.

Yes - but you can't argue that the theme from the Munsters is IT !

This makes my day. The day someone says that a bassline in a TV show is damn good.

I also love this version, and NOT the 1970 one with the faux (?) Merseyside singing.

Yeah, this is part of a pretty cool mid-90s compilation of artists doing cartoon theme songs. I still own and enjoy it.
