Scott Devine Overwater Expression Demo

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi guys, Overwater Basses asked me to record a short demo of their 'Expression' bass to put up on their website so i decided to have a quick widdle around 'the days of wine and roses. I tried to do a bit of chordal work, some soloing and some walking to show what a broad palette of sounds can be produced. Here it is...

Easy,

Scott.

Both the tone and your playing are second to none! I could listen to that all day.
Very interesting instrument by the way, the name "expression" describes it very well.

Nurb... thanks for the kind words! Yeah, it's a real interesting bass. I suppose it's really touching on the Steve Swallow (who I love!) thing, but would be great for all kinds of different styles.

Easy man,

Scott.

I'm listening to your Expression demo right now -- The tone is unbelievable! Your playing is amazing too. Is it your composition? I'm definitely interested to hear some more!

Cheers.

Glad your enjoying it man! It's not my composition, it's an old jazz standard called 'The days of wine and roses'. I only play part of the tune... up 22 seconds in the recording, then for the rest i just improvised around the chord progression.

Cheers man,

Scott.

Ah, thanks for clearing it up!
Once again, truly amazing stuff.

But I'm still interested in hearing your music
I've poked around your site a little bit, couldn't find any albums you've worked on.
Is it just me or you don't have anything written there so far?

El sordo...
I'm actually in the middle of writing and recording my first album at the moment so watch this space. If you go to this link http://scottsbasslessons.com/odds-and-sods/ i've put up a few clips of some stuff i found on the net ages ago and some more recent stuff. I should really trawl through all my recordings and get them up on line.

Easy man,

scott.
