Thanks for that - nice groove set up about one minute in on the demo track Left Alone. Not sure that Ornette would consider it to be free jazz, but good stuff nonetheless. Yes indeed, it's good to know that Thunes is still going strong. He's far too good to not be a part of the whole thing.

Menasche (the drummer on that record) has been a dear friend & musical collaborator of mine since the late 1980s (& he's indirectly responsible for introducing me to my wife!). We have two projects of free jazz (sic) in the can that were recorded last summer, probably due to be released summer 2011. Wonderful guy and a fabulously inspiring drummer.
