WATCH THIS CLIP,
check out Scott Thunes,what he's doing during Frank's solo..when the jam starts getting going.
he had the sunburst jazz for this one,it was an encore I think

I was at this show,the band was just smoking all night,it was right on the Pier in NYC,great sunset,boats were honking their horns..FZ was yelling,"Mine the Harbour!" it was my favorite of his bands..
had to share this w u guys,

Wackerman looks like he's 12 years old in that clip! I'll be seeing Chad tomorrow night with Holdsworth at a small jazz club in Detroit. Great drummer.

Killer clip...! Saw Frank with Vai and Vinnie (I think... there was a bit of ganja involved) way back in the 70's on the Washington University Quad in St. Louis. Amazing show.

Scott's tone was great on this tour, but his tone on the '88 tour was perhaps my favorite bass tone ever.

great growlin' Fender!
It was a nice performance,real solid Fender bass,being played the way it should be played.. that rock n roll edge really balanced out the band perfectly.

I remember those shows,all of them..The Palladium,the Pier..
the guitar playing had a profound affect on me,
I remember being really mesmerized by Frank at the time,
just thinking how amazing he was..

I was also happy that he wasn't sharing the solos with Vai that year,
FZ really gave us our $'s worth that year.
