This is an unlikely band but one of the sexiest bass lines I'm currently playing is the verse of "What Is And Should Never Be" by Led Zeppelin. The variation that JPJ plays under the guitar solo (studio version) is even better. For that matter the verse of "Dazed and Confused" is pretty steamy too.

How did this thread make it to page FOUR with no mention of Ben E. King's "Stand by Me"?!?!?! Aside from being such a beautiful song on it's own, that bassline defines 'romantic slowdance followed by long night of other romantic activities'.

I don't think there is such a song? Do you mean Deep Inside? That bassline is sexy.

That slap bass line from Something About Us by Daft Punk is a bit of an aphrodisiac

Easin' In... Edwin Starr

It's a blaxploitation classic; I wish I knew who played that bass. I don't want to assume James Jamerson or Bob Babbitt from Motown, but...

What? No fretless love? How 'bout:

"Lady In Red" - singer Chris DeBurgh, bassist Pino Palladino.

"Sunset Grill" - singer Don Henley, bassist (again) Pino Palladino.

And BTW not to re-open the topic yet again but "Black Velvet" is a keyboard.
