Hi guys,

I've just uploaded a video of my bass solo with the Carl Palmer band to YouTube. It was filmed at Toads Place in New Haven, Conneticut last June. Check it out:

Enjoy!

Classy stuff!

And some of that stuff you're tapping sounds awfully familiar, I recognise it, not sure where from though! Oh, and there is that slap groove in the 4th minute that I have heard you play before (Myspace page). Love it!

Right around 2 minutes it kinda reminds me of the Zelda theme. I really like it, impressive playing.

Hey Stu - On a side note, I really miss reading your articles/lessons in Bass Guitar Magazine. I subscribed to the mag for the year after they stopped distributing to the US, but I ultimately dropped my subscription as I didn't really care for the new direction. I wish they had retained Adrian as editor - it used to be the best bass mag on the planet!

Your tone is perfect for tapping, when most bassists tap, I actually don't like it at all... especially in a solo setting, I'm more a fan of tapping in a song. But you have the perfect solo bass tone, modern, but not without guts, you know?

Tone aside, amazing playing... but then again, you probably already knew that.

Ahhh, the tapping section contains a quote of Billy Sheehan's 'NV43345' - Billy's a hero of mine, and I wanted to reference that influence in my solo.

Glad you like it.

Cheers

Nice playing, and a beautiful crispy tone.

And fairplay for slipping some sting in there!

Very impressive bro. I wish I had those chops!

It's very Stu Hamm-ish to me, tone and all.

Really impressive.
I truly dig the metallic, punchy tone you get from your bass. Sounds really good, specially for tapping.

The solo is just a bit flashy sometimes, but the crowd obviously loves it.

Congratulations.

BTW, what bass is that ?
