I'm gonna catch hell for this, but here it goes.
Lydia IMO is a very attractive woman.
As we say here "Hot!!"
Now, because she's a musician, we're supposed to forget that aspect all together. Act like it doesn't exist.
Well, she put her image up on YouTube for the whole world to see and lo-and-behold, she's attractive and can play her ass off. And freakin' sing like a bird.
Personally, she IMO, has "The whole package" more than just about anyone out there in her chosen genera of music.
(the only thing missing for me is to hear her original stuff, and if it's like her playing has shown thus far....)
"The whole package"
Groovy as hell. (you don't get "Hair" because you look good, you HAVE to be able to play)
Seems to have a groovy as hell personality too from what I have read here. A MASSIVE +.
Sings great.
And what no one wants to mention, because "it shouldn't matter"- looks good too.
Sure it shouldn't matter, and on many levels it doesn't.
Here at TB- IMO it doesn't matter and this really isn't the place for it.
But, out on a gig, sorry it does to a great degree.
People hear with their eyes mostly. And so do a LOT of musicians.
Unless you're playing jazz (and even then, there is an image to be upheld), in any form of "pop" music, your looks play an important part of the gig.
Thats life. The real world. And for most of us to say "it doesn't matter", well, I don't buy it. You're kidding yourself.
And my reasoning is I MD for a young pop singer, and from her management to her attorney, looks about the band comes up.
Often. (why they're hanging on to my ugly mug still baffles me!!!)
I mean NO, ZERO, ZIP, NADA disrespect for you Lydia.
You can play girl. Badass. Don't come to Detroit, because I'll be out of a gig fast!!!
Now, let the beatings begin..............
Hey one other thing Lydia, being a HUGE Mark King fan myself, how do you cop his tone with a Jazz Bass?? Or do you not care that much and just "do your thing" with it??? Which is still cool.
