Does Victor Wooten play this bassline linearly or does he move from the A string?

It starts with just the A up and down the neck. Then it gets complicated.

I'm talking more about the part, I guess you'd say the chorus, when the harmonica has the main part, kinda going like "Wah, wah wah wah. Wah, wah wah wah."

that's the 'banjo bass' part right? It seems to me that it would be difficult to play that all on one string.
