Skjold Stage Series Sound Clips

Pete and I got together yesterday to do a little bit of recording. We kinda did our own little basstasters thing

This was all recorded with this bass:

All recordings done plugged directly into my Sound Blaster Audigy Z2 with a flat EQ and no tone shaping on the bass. This is basically just samples of the pickup selector switch in its various positions. The bass is totally passive.

No, not mine Im afraid. Im not sure if this one is spoken for yet or not, but it was one of the first, if not the first stage series with the new passive configuration and SC4 pickup(s).

These are pretty much the entry level bass from Pete and this will be the configuration moving forward on this series.

Oh and I cant even take credit for the clips, thats Pete Skjold himself playing there. I just recorded them

I dig the neck clips the most, but all could sound great (to me) with a little tweaking.

Thanks,
Adam

Great post, Juneau! It's amazing what those passive Stage basses can do. At some point in the future, it would be cool to do the same with with an axe loaded with Pete's "standard" pickups and active preamp.

Thanks again for an excellent "Skjold post!"

Tom.

Thats the plan Tom, we just didnt have anything around with the new stuff in it. All those basses are sold or off at deallers. But Im sure we can get some recordings of something before it ships out of this batch

Wow, I have to say that the pickup sounds great in this bass. I'm really looking forward to hearing one of the basses with his electronics and the two seperate pickups. Thanks for the head's up on the clip Juneau!

both pickups in series sound just sick to my ear, but like everything I've seen and heard that Pete does, that is no surprise. I have just got to play one of these basses one day...!
