Skunk Funk!

Well, my dogs killed a skunk (the little b*stid was trying to get into our chicken coop) last night (which led to an interrupted Funkranomicon reherasal and 200 lbs of dogs getting bathed in our patented de-skunking mixture, as well as other humorous moments...)

In honor of the deceased:

Tower of Power - The Skunk, the Goose, and the Fly

with help from some serious mullets
I love that song, hadn't heard it in years...

And - Brecker Brothers - Some Skunk Funk

I knew there was a smokin' Brecker Bros. link lurking behind this thread title - thanks! Michael's solo was so hot it stripped the varnish off his sax (killing the collector value, but then the new ones play better anyway, isn't that the approved line?). Please post again if your dog comes home covered in dew after killing some squids. Any time I see Dennis Chambers in the drum chair, I turn the speaker volume up. I was fortunate to see a bunch of the guys in that clip with other musicians - the Bros. with the Holdsworth/Cobham/Clarke supergroup, Chambers with Scofield, and Mike Stern with Jaco, all within about a 5 year span.
(TOP link was fun, too).

If ever there was any doubt that Will Lee is a certified badass, the original recording of Some Skunk Funk should set minds at ease.

It was either Steve Hunt or Alan Pasqua on keys, I forget. Good show. It was an occasional lineup at the time for "special event" type shows - I saw them at Berklee (where future Holdsworth bassist Skuli Sverrisson was studing at the time.)

Yes indeed. I usually don't go very long without having to listen to something by him.
