Does anyone else listen to these guys? I'm guessing most people from Canada have heard of them...

Thumbs up

Wow.. Sloan! I had forgotten about them. I got their first two or three CDs, but then I kind of lost track. I saw them play here in Atlanta and they really rocked. I guess my favorite tune was "Underwhelmed".. the "hit" they had. One of the better rock songs I've ever heard.

Great group. Loved their first album (Smeared), which was kind of My Bloody Valentine meets the Beatles. Then they did the second (Twice Removed), which tried to be all Beatles all the time. I didn't like it as much.

Apparently, they broke up, then re-formed. I bought the new disc (From One Chord To Another)...very good. The band were finally mastering their influences, instead of vice versa. Kinda lo-fi production, but still pretty good.

I know they've released a few since then, one of which (Navy Blues) is supposed to be really good. But I find their sound kinda one-trick-ponyish, overall (as much as I like it) so I haven't bought any.

They are great live, though.
