I've always been in love with the pumpkins. I'm doing some recording now and trying to get something like D'arcy's huge bass tone. It's so thick and present! Any ideas?

I believe Billy actually played bass on all the recordings. The time I saw them - back in 92-93, I think - she was using a Boogie Bass 400+ and a P bass.

D'arcy may play a P, but the bass that Billy plays on Gish sounds like a Jazz to me. I have no idea what equipment he uses, it's just what it sounds like to me.

I taped some performances off of TV back in the day and she had a Jazz Bass through a SVT.

for the studio stuff, since corgan was playing the bass parts, there are probably multiple tracks of bass layered. some of the songs on siamese dream wound up with 70+ tracks.
