So my band recorded this EP

I just wanted to share with you guys this EP my band recorded. It was completely self recorded, by our guitarist. The problem with that being, my guitarist doesn't know anything about recording, and wanted to get it out fast. There are plenty of mistakes, and poor quality all around. In the end though, we got it out and have a decent recording to show our friends so they don't giggle when we say we're in a band.

Obscure Response EP | Don't Snow

Feedback would be GREATLY appreciated. While there were problems and mistakes, we worked pretty hard on this for quite some time.

Like you said, the recording(s) are lacking in final production.

Track #3 actually sounds like a pretty good mix. I liked it.

Track #5 (Astronaut) is way overdriven with guitar ,IMO

Hear zero bass on track #6. Maybe you sat that one out?

Track 3: Thanks!

Track 5: I used bass fuzz on that one. The guitar sounded really thin at first, so we added the fuzzy bass track to fatten it up a bit. While I would have liked to do a clean bass track over it, we were recording on an 8 track, so there just wasn't any more room.

Track 6: Unlike the rest of them, that one was recorded all at the same time, with mics setup throughout the room we recorded in. It was the best take we got, but we couldn't adjust any of the volumes because of our equipment. The bass sounded okay to me though

Well, bottom line:

You guys certainly accomplished your immediate objective. You produced a real, and tangible production that will showcase your band.

No giggling here!!!
