I seriously feel like I'm "just the singer." I'm trained as an instrumentalist. I'm a professional french horn player, free-lancing in the Louisville, KY/Cincinnati, OH area, having played with the Cincinnati Symphony and Louisville Orchestra. Therefore, I really respect and understand the instrumental aspect of what we're doing. I also used to be the bass player for our group, so I'm particularly sensitive to the bass parts (I didn't write the ones you hear, I couldn't play that stuff in a million years). Singing isn't something that I've really spent those thousands of hours in a practice room for, honing my skills. It's just something that I kind of do, and I happen to have the best voice out of the five guys in the group (not saying much
). I guess it helps that I write the lyrics, too. Anyway, that's why I feel like I'm just the singer. The guys playing have earned their chops. I haven't yet.
