Hi everybody.
I'm not in the habit of advertising my modest video efforts on TalkBass (I mean, aside from the link in my signature), but this time I want to share this one with all of you since I think it's the first time that someone shows on YouTube an attempt to play Jaco Pastorius' "Portrait of Tracy" on a multiscale ("fanned frets") bass. Of course, this one is far from being a "terrific" version, but my intention is to show those who find a multiscale fingerboard intimidating that there's nothing to "fear" about it. Playing a piece like this on such instrument certainly demands some practice, but nothing that represents a drastic change in your playing technique. I'm truly in love with the multiscale concept. For those who haven't wanted to try it, just do it!
