Hey guys, I got some rough recordings on myspace. In particular I'd like you guys to tell me what you think of this song I recorded directly after reading The Music Lesson by Vic.

I felt like this song was a big step in my playing so go easy on the negativity lol.

The name of the song is Music Herself.

It's a nice piece of music. You have some good chops there I think.

It would sound nice with some soulful jazzy female vocals over it I think, maybe playing simpler under the singing parts.

There's a couple of parts where you are "going for it" that the timing is out just everso slightly, but I'm sure you've realized that already.

It's good to hear some skillful playing that remains tuneful and pleasant, so as you develop this piece I'd say don't be afraid to keep it so, rather than making it a virtuoso piece. You're good so you don't have to "prove" it.

Kudos!!

Thanks man. I really would like to take this piece elsewhere, other than just as a recording of me on myspace.

I haven't ran into anybody while playing bass that really stood out to me and made me say "I really gotta keep playing with that guy/girl."

It is very underdeveloped. And yes, the timing is off a bit. This was only the second take and I had no intention of posing it as a finished project. It really is more of an idea thus far. Just what was going through my head after I read the book.

I really enjoyed it. I also want to say that I really like the tone of your bass.

Hey man, I appreciate it. That was actually a schecter elite 4, ran straight into the computer. So what you hear is my uncolored tone from my bass.
