I'd like to know what's the song you play to when you want to impress others.... Or maybe just to show your skills to someone...

Boy!!! I'm no fun - when I stopped worrying about impressing others with notes-per-second/slap by playing the "right" notes for the "right" duration, with good tone, in the pocket, the people that mattered were impressed! They dug the "spaces"

I never have those moments. Maybe when I'm older.

To sound cool....hmmm....I make something up....or I play Victor Wooten.

River people is one of the best grooves...its like grunge disco or something, hard to describe, but its a great groove, when I learned it It gave me great octave excersizes and patterns that I would never have thought of.

my friend Aidan, who drums and i jam with frequently, is really into jam band stuff, and is a TOTAL moe.ron, so i always play "Timmy Tucker".
it's just slapping octaves of E, G, B and A (but with a really cool rythm) and it gets him wicked worked up. it's the jam band equivalent of rhcp's higher ground.

I play Stravinsky's Firebird Suite all the way through.

I play all the instruments' parts at once. It requires the use of my toes. Always pisses off the guys at Guitar Center when I do that.

Either that or Freebird...any kinda "bird" song really.
